Some really interesting flatbread "pizza" choices, my favorite is grilled chicken and bacon ranch. Great burgers too. Sports on too many TVs like most bars. Didn't give 5 stars because the restroom smell was a little ripe each time I've been in there.

Ate here last Sunday, the food was delicious and my boyfriend and I loved the drinks and the atmosphere. However, we weren't greeted for upwards of 10 minutes upon sitting down and it was another 20 minutes before our order was taken. The food then took another half hour or so. We were lucky we weren't on a fixed schedule because if we were the waiting would have been an issue. I don't blame the waitress, it seemed to us like she was really stressed out which tells me the restaurant was overworking her. If you've got a lot of time, we recommend coming here. If you've got somewhere to be in less than 2 hours, try elsewhere.

We visited the Waterworks this evening with friends who have been going there for years. They have bragged about what a great place it is and how friendly everybody was. Our experience was HORRIBLE!! We were seated by a young man who said our server would be right with us. We sat for 15 minutes and no one came. I had noticed that the place was very crowded and seriously understaffed. Obviously the management must have problems hiring competent people or just is poor at planning for Blues Weekend. When a table whose diners had just been seated were immediately visited by a waitress, we were a bit upset. When our friend who was obviously embarrassed by the poor service tried to complain to a young blonde woman who I think was in charge, she gave an example of how not to treat CUSTOMERS. Whoever owns this restaurant should be embarrassed by her poor attitude towards who WERE very loyal to your establishment.

Waterworks is where the locals eat! Reasonable prices, local drinks, greasy bar food plus more... You can't go wrong. Hey, if your show up during a festival, expect a long wait (which you'll get anywhere you go if a festival is in town... Just think about it!) I have been going to this place for years and I haven't been let down once! If you want a low key place to grab some food and a drink and get the real mid coast Maine experience that isn't a total dive, stop by waterworks.

This place has a wonderful deck to just kick back on. The food and service are good - warm and friendly.
